What type of accidents can I claim compensation for?

Accidents can happen in all sorts of circumstances and if the accident was not your fault then you may have a claim for compensation for Personal Injuries and other losses.

The following are examples of just some of the many claims which have been successfully concluded over the past few months by our dedicated and experienced team of specialist personal injury solicitors at Oliver & Co, although it is not an exhaustive list of the injuries which fit the criteria for a personal injury claim.

  • Mrs. P, from Widnes, was successful in recovering compensation for personal injuries and losses (including loss of earnings and the cost of private medical treatment) when she injured her shoulder, after being attacked by a patient whilst working as a nurse in a local hospital. Her claim was successful against her employers, the Hospital Trust, who had not taken adequate steps to protect her from the attack.
  • Mrs. W, from Doncaster, tripped up on broken pavement whilst enjoying a day out at Blackpool Pier and we were able to recover compensation for her losses caused by her injured leg.
  • Mrs. P, from Runcorn, injured her wrist whilst trying to move through a doorway at work. As she went to pull the door another colleague, without her knowing, was on the opposite side of the door and he pushed the door with such force that it caused an injury to her wrist.
  • Mrs. P from Suffolk, recovered compensation for her fractured ankle and losses sustained when she tripped over a plastic crate left outside the back door of the fish and chip shop where she worked.
  • Mrs. P from Northwich, sustained an injury to her foot when she was shopping in her local off-licence. Our personal injury solicitors were successful in recovering compensation for her injuries and other losses from the owners of the shop.
  • Miss. L, from Runcorn, suffered with a nasty laceration to her leg when a wine bottle fell from the conveyor belt at the checkout of a well known supermarket, causing it to shatter and shards of glass to fly up and cut her leg. At Oliver & Co. our specialist personal injury solicitors were able to recover compensation for her for this injury.
  • Mr. A recovered compensation for his injuries and losses when he struck his head on an unmarked girder whilst walking down a flight of stairs.
  • Miss M, from Doncaster, who is a young child under 2 years of age, sustained relatively minor injuries to her head and arm when she was playing in a children’s ball pool play area at a local pub after a sign fell off the wall and hit her.

  • Mrs. T, from Doncaster, sustained an injury to her neck and back when she was knocked off her mobility scooter by a delivery man who was not looking where he was going. Here at Oliver & Co. our expert lawyers were able to obtain compensation for him which has been paid into court and invested by the court until he is 18 years old.
  • Mrs. M, from Northampton, suffered an injury to her leg and anxiety when she was stabbed by a “used” hypodermic needle, which had not been properly disposed off while she was working as a cleaner in a GP’s surgery.
