Dental Claims

This medical negligence dental case was referred by What’s My Claim Worth.

Our 29 year old Client fell off the operating table whilst undergoing planned surgery to have 2 teeth removed.

Following the surgery but whilst still in theatre, our Client fell from the table. When she fell, she suffered a bump to the back of her head which formed a lump. She suffered with constant headaches and she had a severe pain in the right hand side of her chest for approximately 4 weeks following the fall. She was unable to sleep because of the headaches and pain, so she attended upon her GP who prescribed strong painkillers and sleeping tablets. Fortunately, our Client did not suffer any long term symptoms and has made a full recovery from her injuries.

The hospital provided witness statements from all of the members of staff who were present at the time of our Client’s fall. It appears that the cot side on the right hand side of the bed had not been raised. When the Anaesthetist tried to remove the anaesthetic tube from our Client’s throat, she understandably coughed and sat herself up as an instinctive reaction. As she was still sedated by the anaesthetic, she had no control over her body, resulting in her falling off the right side of the table. Our Client has no recollection of the fall but remembers waking up when she hit her head on the floor.

Despite the hospital has not made any admissions of liability whatsoever, our Client has recovered the sum of £2,500 by way of compensation for her personal injuries and financial losses incurred as a result of the fall, within just 3 months of commencing her clinical negligence claim with Oliver & Co and she has confirmed that she is very happy with the result.

If you have suffered as a result of dental treatment or dental medical negligence then you maybe able to claim dental compensation.
