Whilst walking to her daughter’s school in the dark, Sandra tripped over a speed bump in the school car park. There was no lighting in the car park and the speed bump was unmarked and therefore hard to notice. During the fall, she hit her head and suffered a graze approximately 2cm in diameter to her forehead.
As the injury healed, a scar developed which presented as loss of pigmentation, high shine and mild indentations. In addition, the patch of depigmentation on her forehead did not tan when exposed to strong sunlight and became more obvious as the surrounding skin became darker. Sandra was very conscious about the scar particularly where the natural frown lines had become raised in the scar area.
Cosmetic camouflage make-up
She was seen by a Skin Camouflage Consultant who was able to assess the scar and provide a cosmetic camouflage solution. They used a layer of professional make-up matting over the scar area to prevent the make-up product from lifting or sliding on the smooth scar surface area and a suitable colour and product match was made with veil cover cream and a translucent powder then applied.
We worked with Sandra and were able to recover yearly treatment costs, together with future follow up consultations for her. She also was awarded £5,750 compensation for the pain and suffering caused by the injuries which she had sustained.
