Maria Pilkington, a specialist in the What’s My Claim Worth team secured settlement for Mr B from Frodsham after he was injured. Mr B, aged 77 tripped and fell on debris/plastic which was left on the floor by workmen carrying out works on property near to his home.
Mr B had seen workman working on properties near to his home and at the end of the day they had left a mess behind them including abandoned plastic packaging. Mr B was trying to get into his property and tripped when he fell on the discarded plastic sustaining soft tissue injury to his wrist, elbow and grazing to his knees. Fortunately Mr B was able to obtain the details of the company who had been working there from the signage on their van so a claim was directed to the company. After the claim had been investigated they denied liability and they also denied the accident even happened. This made proceeding with the claim very difficult as there were no witnesses to the accident itself and Mr B’s medical records from the hospital he attended did not state exactly what had caused him to fall. Notwithstanding this, the team at What’s My Claim Worth persisted and eventually after a prolonged period of arguing the Defendant’s Insurers accepted liability (responsibility) for the accident and the claim settled for the sum of £4000.
