NO WIN, NO FEE’

broken nose claims

The nose is easily injured because these bones stick out and do not have a lot of support in comparison to other facial bones. The symptoms and consequences of a broken nose can vary in severity.  In severe cases, you may experience extreme pain and possible disfigurement of your nose.

You may have suffered a broken nose as a result of a number of different accidents, including a road traffic accident, a slip or fall, or an accident in the workplace.

If that is the case, you may be able to recover compensation. Try our Claims Calculator to see how much your injury may be worth.

i have been assaulted!

If your nose has been broken because you were the victim of violent crime, we can help you apply for Criminal Injuries Compensation.

In order to claim for this compensation you must bring a claim within 2 years of the crime, and the crime must have been reported to the police.

We acted for a client who had been badly assaulted and sustained a broken nose amongst other injuries.

Our client had submitted a claim to the Criminal Injury Compensation Association (CICA) for his injuries, and had been offered £1,450 by way of compensation. Although his nose had been badly fractured, unfortunately the scheme did not cover this type of injury.

He therefore approached us to help with a compensation claim. We were confident that we could win his claim, and told him that if we could not beat the offer he had been given by the CICA, we would not ask for any payment for our legal services to him. With the help of our in-house doctor and solicitor, we were able to identify that compensation was available for the loss of smell that our client had suffered following his broken nose injury.

The CICA reviewed the case in light of our findings and evidence, and we were thrilled that the client ended up receiving £17,100 – a substantial increase on the original offer.

WHAT CAN I CLAIM?

In a personal injury claim there are two categories of losses that we can claim compensation for:-
GENERAL DAMAGES
This is compensation for your pain, suffering and loss of amenity and is known as ‘general damages’. It compensates you for the direct effects of the accident. The amount you will receive depends on the type of injury, how severe the injury was, and how long you suffered with symptoms.

SPECIAL DAMAGES

Compensation for financial losses are known as ‘special damages’. This compensates you for the financial losses incurred by the accident including loss of earnings, overtime and bonus, care and assistance you needed from family and friends, medical costs including medication and treatment and any other expenses you incurred due to the accident.
