Mrs K from Dunstable was involved in an accident at work when she slipped on a wet floor whilst working in a warehouse. She fell to the floor injuring her chest, fracturing a rib and sustaining soft tissue damage to her thumb. A claim was presented to her employers on the basis they failed to ensure she had a safe place to work and failed to ensure the floors were clear of any substance which could cause her to slip.
Liability was denied throughout so in order to progress the claim court proceedings were issued. We arranged for our client to be examined by an Orthopaedic Surgeon who provided a Medical Report on her accident related injuries. Fortunately there were no permanent injuries.
Despite the claim continuing to be denied, the solicitor dealing with the matter made an offer to the Defendant’s Solicitors to attempt to conclude the claim and after negotiations took place, the claim settled for £9,500.00 and did not need to proceed to Trial. A very good outcome for our client!
