Our solicitors at What’s My Claim Worth have recently settled a claim for £8,000 for a golfer who suffered injury to his knee.
Mr M suffered a personal injury while playing golf. As he was descending wooden steps on the golf course, his left foot slipped on a wet step, causing his knee to twist and resulting in a fall. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where an x-ray of his left knee showed no bone injury. However, he continued to experience ongoing tightness and occasional buckling of the knee more than two years post-accident.
Liability and Defendants
- Initial investigations identified the occupiers of the golf course as responsible for maintaining the golf course.
- The claim was first submitted to their insurers, but it was later redirected to the subcontractor responsible for maintaining public access routes, as per contractual obligations however, liability was denied by them.
- The occupiers have overall control and responsibility for the golf course and our determined solicitors made a final request to reconsider their denial of liability as if liability is not accepted, court proceedings would be necessary.
Medical Evidence
Mr M examined by a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon, 28 months post-accident and the medical report confirmed symptoms in the left knee, including tightness and instability.
Increased Offer Secured
An offer of £6,000 was initially made however, our experienced solicitors were able to secure an increased offer of over £8,000.
What Our Client Said
“The case took a long and winding route but I was kept fully informed and involved, good advice was given and I am happy with the outcome.”
