Our client was on the factory floor trying to open a nut from a metal bar. This was part of the machinery that has to be serviced from time to time.
Our client was not given the correct tools to do the job, and was just using a spanner.
The bar slipped causing our client to stumble backwards, twisting his right knee.
Our client had not been provided with suitable work equipment.
As a result of the accident he suffered pain to his lower back, known as a soft tissue injury which resolved within 3 months of the accident. The injuries to his right lower leg, thigh and hip resolved within 3 months of the accident. Our client underwent one session of physiotherapy.
Liability (fault) for his accident was admitted by his employers insurers and settlement was achieved without the need to start court proceedings. Our client was awarded £2,700.00.
