WHAT DO TO NEXT

If you believe you have fractured your jaw you should see a doctor as soon as possible.

A doctor will diagnose your broken jaw through a physical examination and x-rays.

In terms of treatment, this will depend on the severity of your injury. You may require surgery, or have to have your jaw wired together. In serious instances, you may need plates placed across the fracture site.

You may also require antibiotics to treat any associated wounds.
