Successful Compensation Claim For Client Injured In Car Wash Incident

Our legal team at What’s My Claim Worth recently secured £100,000 in compensation for a client who suffered serious injuries in an unexpected car wash accident—despite initial rejection of his claim by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB).

Trapped between car and house

Our client was waiting for his car to be cleaned when a car wash employee moved his vehicle but failed to apply the handbrake. Positioned on a slope, the car rolled forward, pinning him against a nearby house. This resulted in severe injuries, including fractures to his humerus, shoulder blade, ribs, and spine, as well as a collapsed lung and other complications.

Untraceable identity of the person at fault

A major challenge in the case was establishing liability. The worker who moved the car provided false details, and both he and the car wash operators left the country, making them untraceable. As a result, we pursued a claim through the MIB under the Untraced Drivers Agreement. Though initially declined, we successfully appealed and negotiated a settlement, ensuring our client received the compensation he was entitled to.

If you’ve been injured in an accident involving an untraced or uninsured driver, you may still have a claim. Our dedicated personal injury team  at What’s My Claim Worth understand that this can be an overwhelming situation and are here to help—contact us today for expert legal advice
