Surgical Error due to Misdiagnosis Causes Deep Vain Thrombosis and Stroke – £50,000 in compensation

Our client brought a clinical negligence claim against a hospital regarding the standard of care she received from an orthopaedic surgeon.

During knee replacement surgery, the surgical cutting block was placed incorrectly on the knee, causing the wrong cut to be made. As a result of this, our client suffered a fracture of her right knee after being discharged, which later resulted in her suffering from deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and a stroke.

Our client was successful in her clinical negligence claim, and received the sum of £50,000 compensation for the pain and suffering she experienced as a result of her misdiagnosis.
