Our client, Mr A, was crossing a road and had made it safely into the centre of the road where there were bollards erected that acted as a pedestrian refuge. He was then struck by a driver who had been speeding and who eventually drove off and could not be traced.
Unfortunately as a result of the collision our client sustained a very severe head injury and brain damage, an injury to his neck, pelvis and femur for which he would require lifelong care. Prior to the accident he was happily working as a shop assistant but was deemed unemployable by medical experts following the accident.
Medical evidence was obtained to substantiate the extent of the injury that Mr A had sustained due to the negligent actions of the hit and run driver. Due to this Mr A was awarded just over £1,000,000 for his injuries and consequential losses, to include future care and future loss of earnings.
